Course Description and Goals
The Functional Dry Needling (FDN) course has been written for the unique programming taught in our education. The purpose of this Level 1 training is to introduce clinicians to FDN programming and protocols. Participants will workshop each and every region of the body. Level 1 training includes proposed physiological effects/ benefits, soft tissue assessment, and regional treatment using the unique programming.
Level 1 Course Objectives
The primary objective of Level 1 is to develop an understanding of FDN and how to apply it into the full spectrum of musculoskeletal treatment approaches. By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the FDN instruments, FDN treatments and potential effects and benefits
- Identify and discuss the indications, contraindications (relative and absolute) of dry needling
- Review and develop a better understanding of soft tissue injury, healing and potential reactivity to dry needling (therapeutic and adverse)
- Develop skill and competence in the application of dry needling to the major regions of the spine and extremities (covered in this course)
Level 1 Prerequisites
Level 1 participants should have a well-developed working knowledge of the human neuromusculoskeletal system and its major structures. Prior experience with manual therapy and manual soft tissue mobilization techniques are helpful.
Teaching/Learning Methods & Materials
Various teaching methods will be utilized consistent with the various levels of complexity of the learning objectives. These will include explanations, demonstrations, performance, feedback, teaching, supervised open practice and case troubleshooting. Teaching materials include the Level 1 PowerPoint/Keynote presentation, Level 1 Training Materials and video demonstrations.
Important Information
Manual therapy must be in the scope of practice in your licensed profession or you must be an active student undertaking a manual therapy course. Any tools purchased alongside your ticket will be shipped to the course location and available for pickup at the commencement of the course.

25% fee for registration cancellations made less than 2 weeks before scheduled class date.

Training may be canceled if a minimum number of trainees are not reached one month prior to training. All registrants will receive a full refund or immediate transfer to a future training.

If a course has to be cancelled last minute, whether if the instructor has an emergency or the weather, we will do everything we can to notify you of any course cancellation.
